王基宇并不是“八零后”，因为他是“九零后”。这个年仅十七岁的青海男孩是个多面手，他是一个艺术家、一个设计师、一个电子乐手、一个即兴演唱者、一个适应各种风格的主唱、一个动画师、一个武术专家、一个网站策划、一个多种媒体撰稿人、一个写诗人、一个舞美设计、一个哲学家、一个冥想与催眠专家、一个艺术俱乐部发起人和一个雕塑系学生。在艺术家的身份里他画过漫画、画过油画、画过国画、用过自然材料、做过声音、做过行为、搞过装置、做过动画、弄过图片。在各种繁杂能力之下，这个年轻人对生活的态度或许才是最有益于他的。大多数情况下他是一个低调、闷骚、处处为别人着想、受欢迎的小男孩，而当他进入一个歌手或一个宣讲者的身份时，其激情与感染力往往令人印象深刻。他的作品经常以一副可爱而幼稚的面目示人，但其中则隐藏着极大的阴险，其庞大的多维叙述习惯往往能够让人陷入艰难的思索中难以抽身。王基宇所关注的话题有世界的文本化、文人专权、全球化的穆斯林、权力集中与消解、武术的复兴以及怎样找个女朋友，他靠着全面的知识系统与灵敏的更新能力坚信自己有通吃的魄力。我相信最令他有信心的是他的年龄。
Wang Jiyu was not born in 1980s but in 1990s. Only 17 years old, this boy from Qinghai is a versatile mind. He is an artist, a designer, an electronic musician, an impromptu singer, a lead singer of a variety of styles, a cartoon maker, a martial arts expert, a website planner, a multi-media writer, a poet, a dance designer, a philosopher, a meditation and hypnosis expert, an sponsor of art club and a student majoring in sculpture. As an artist, he once painted comic picture, oil painting and Chinese painting, used natural materials, made sounds and behaviors, did installations, animation and pictures. With various complicated capacity, the young man’s attitude to life is perhaps the most beneficial to him. In most cases he is a low-key, internally cunning and welcomed boy who always considers others. When he becomes a singer or a lecturer, his passion and influence are often impressive. His works often have a cute and naive feature, but they have extremely hidden insidiousness inside. His huge multi-dimensional narrative habits often make people difficult to be extricated from difficult pondering. The topics that Wang Jiyu concerns are text of the world, monopolizing power of literati, the Muslims of globalization, concentration and digestion of power, martial arts renaissance and how to find a girlfriend. He is firmly convinced of his take-all vigor with his comprehensive knowledge systems and sensitive update capability. I believe that what most makes him confident is his age.
王基宇是在苏联解体的那年出生，成长在一个大转变的娱乐时代里。这或许不让他多么严肃、稳重，但当代的观点和全面的视野却给了他更多好处。这个男孩有着令人诧异的利用各种信息的能力，他对世界上正在发生的重要事情信手拈来，对自身各种繁杂技术的更新频率出人意料。如果他决定做一个动画，那么他不会请任何助手，甚至不会下载背景音乐，一切声音、画面、三维、编程由他一个人完成，并且他还要全勤上学。
在这个不长的动画里我看到了几乎所有关于苏联的记忆，而这些遗产又被以“无厘头”的方式和时事拼接在一起。具有象征性的画面在动画中几乎无处不在，“恶搞”式的娱乐精神充斥在作品每个角落。王基宇所用来娱乐和恶搞的却不仅仅是意识形态或政治，还有更多长期以来被视为题外话的东西被重新拉入我们的视野，这种整合可以说是铁面无私的。
当有人称90后为无脑的一代时，十七岁的艺术家、设计师、电子乐手、主唱、动画师、内家拳高手、撰搞人、哲学家、雕塑系学生王基宇回帖道：这个看起来在解剖学上是不成立的。
Wang Jiyu was born in the year of disintegration of the Soviet Union and grew up in an era of great changes in entertainment. This may not make him serious and prudent, but contemporary views and comprehensive vision benefited more. The boy has surprising ability to use all kinds of information, he can get important things happening in the world without efforts and his update frequency of his complicated techniques is unexpected. If he decided to make an animation, he will not call any assistants; even he will not download any background music. All sounds, images, 3D, programs are completed by himself, while having full attendance.
I see almost all the memory on the Soviet Union in this short animation, and these heritages are unreasonably connected with current affairs. Symbolic images are almost everywhere in the animation, and comic entertainment spirits are in every corner of the work. What Wang Jiyu uses for entertainment and comic effects are not only ideology and politics, but something regarded to be irrelevant dragged into our vision. This integration can be said to be inflexibly just and fair.
Some people say the generation born in 1990s is brainless. Wang Jiyu, a 17-year-old artist, designer, electronic musician, lead singer, animator, soft fist expert, journalist, philosopher and student majoring in sculpture, said in his reply post: This seems invalid in anatomy.
