祁逸
Qi Yi

祁逸是艺术车间A区里唯一的80年代出生的人。比起A区里的所有长辈,他的思考和视觉都携带着青春的求知欲望:即使是以复杂的答案的方式呈现的。无论是城市、文化、遗产还是历史、宿命还是现实,他的这些长辈们的艺术里都有无限丰富的词汇、修辞、质感和细节。祁逸的思考则显得更加“观念”、“概念”、“抽象”、骨架感。
Qi Yi is the only artist of the 80's generation among all. His artistic thoughts and visual means, even though expressed through complicated solutions, are driven by passionate ambitions for knowing. His seniors possess numerous artistic dictions and details in their creative thinking on urbanism, culture, heritage, history, fate and reality, while his minds stand out being "ideological", "conceptual", "abstract" and apodemal.
在他的一幅画中,他从他在城中村居住的房子的门口开始生发,视觉的推演伴随着他在生活中的情绪起伏,我想他甚至在操练着一种自恋的实践,通过画面来镜像自己每天的处境,同时也用生活的细节来镜像他的画面。
In one of his paintings, he sets out his journey from where he lives and witnesses his ups and downs in life. I reckon that he even has practiced his narcism by mirroring the frame on his everyday encounter and mirroring details of life on his painting as well.
实际上祁逸的家庭条件十分优裕,只不过他选择违背家长的意愿的方式来修炼自己。通过叛逆而成长,在自恋中自省和建立自信,他比他的多数同龄人多了一个工具:艺术。
Neglecting well-financed family support and being disobedient to parental expectations, he has been growing and constructing his own confidence in an introspection way. He is blessed with one more tool than his peers: Art.
在另外一件作品中,他在画面中设置了两种对抗的力量,就像电子游戏里设置对阵双方的军队一样。在他自己制定的游戏规则中,他的梦想跟他的现实通过色彩和线条相互PK;他的正面情绪和他的负面情绪相互PK。
He has also placed two counter forces in a painting like two troops in electronic games. Within the game rules made by himself, his dreams PK his reality and his positive spirits PK the negative moods.
还有一件作品,画面的大部分是枷锁的符号,画面的下方有一个“透气”、“逃脱”、“释放”的小空间。
In another painting of his, he has made fetters as symbol everywhere in the frame, and a small room for "expiration", "escape" and "release" on the bottom.
有一种说法是每个人的童年是神学家、青年是形而上学家、成年是科学家。我想如果这个模型有道理的话,祈逸正处于形而上学阶段。
Someone has proposed a module for people's life as being a theologist in childhood, metaphysical in his youth and then a scientist. If only this module makes any sense, Qi Yi shall right be at the phase of youth.
