苏涛
Su Tao
纺织城艺术区的快速壮大和苏涛有着很大的关系。在刚刚有几个艺术家搬进A区后，苏涛便把旁边的一个1200多平米的空间租下来，然后分成了很多小间以同等价格转租给了一批年青艺术家。这样做极大的刺激了一大群在旁边“看看再说”的艺术家——人家都有这气魄了，我们还犹豫什么啊！
苏涛是那种在现实中游刃有余的人，除了画画外还在外面还经营着一家业务不错的通讯设备公司。这是一个完全和艺术扯不上半点关系的行当。他自己调侃说：“要说转行，我上大学就开始了”。爷爷是画画的，父亲是画画的，所以画画对于苏涛来说是这个世界最为正确的行为了。而在美院上的“服装设计”给了他一个当头棒喝，从小建立的坐标开始被迫面临调整。而这一调整就是十年。
在十年的转业背景里下，苏涛有意识的接受了商业文化并对转型期间的社会镜像形成了一套自己的看法。由于远处西北，政治气氛的趋稳定性让本来宏大的质疑思绪迅速的被日常所消解，转变为一种可视的生活态度。
从他的一系列绘画作品中可以看到这一切痕迹：懒洋洋的光线下面，一个以自我形象的中心的画面，脚底下一只只猫，一切都是那么安逸，那么平静，可能唯一让你还感觉到有一丝丝不安的是那一双微微往上翻的眼睛，但这对你构不成任何危胁，或许他只是想更加睁大眼睛看看今天的太阳。
The fast development of the Textile City Art District has much to do with Su Tao. After a few artists moved to A Zone of the Art District, Su Tao rented a space of 1200 square meters and divided it into many small spaces, then he subleased them to a group of young artists at equal price. His action greatly encourages a large group of artists who are standing by for observing situation.
Su Tao is such a person doing a job with skill and ease in the reality. Besides painting making, he also runs a telecommunication equipment company which completely has nothing to do with art. He jeeringly said: “I begin to change my occupation when I was in college”. My granddad and father both engage in drawing, so the drawing as to Su Tao is a very normal trade in the world. The course “Costume Design” he received in academy of fine art shook him, making his direction set in his childhood face adjustment and this adjustment has kept for ten years.
In the ten years’ background of job changing, Su Tao has intentionally accepted commercial culture and concluded a set of his own view of the society during the period of job changing. For staying far in the northwest, the stability of political situation made the original grand doubtful thoughts fade in daily life and finally turned to a kind of visible attitude toward the life.
From his series of painting works, you can find these traces: in the warm sunshine, a person is standing there with a cat at the foot, and everything comes to so peaceful and easy. The only thing that may make you uncomfortable is that a pair of eyes slightly rolling, but it brings no any danger to you, or maybe he just wants to open his eyes wider to see today’s sun.
